Anyone prioritised career and money and got to their goals and unhappy?
I'm just like what next, l've hit a career plateau, healthy work life balance, good salary but feeling lonely. It's always been next job, next challenge but hit a sweet spot, good hands off manager who's supportive. I'm a 33 single female. I've been on that hamster wheel but no one tells you what to do wants you reach all your milestones.

I prioritized getting married and having a big family early on . There’s a clock on children . No clock on working. It’s a lie sold to women. I’m pretty successful now, happy to have my 3 sons, would have had 6 kids if I could do it over again. Marry a high earner, have a big family, stay home with your children and work later. Your fertility window is small. Your income window is wide.

Not that you said anything about egg quality, but I just feel like a lot of pressure is put on women to beat their biological clock when the pressure should also be on men.

No one is talking to me? It sure seems like you are 😉😘

Honestly, I’d take some time to be proud that you’ve got to such a place so early on in your life.
Maybe prioritise spending time with friends, or maybe trying out new hobbies? I always think finding social groups of sports or crafts a great idea, set your mind to something new maybe?
Or like someone previously said, travelling is always an option too. Whether that’s to a town not too far away for a weekend, or opposite side of the world for months!

I can relate. They say keep going until your reach your goals, but nobody talks about what to do when you finally get there. I’m trying to just enjoy being where I’ve always wanted to be and to find meaning outside of work.

I am trying to be content too, but I can’t shake the feeling something is missing, for so long I have defined myself by my work and reaching milestones that I don’t know who I am if I’m not the ambitious, driven and motivated, this is new territory!!!

Does anyone have the 2020 SHRM books for sale or to borrow? My job won’t contribute towards my certification. I’ve already paid for my test. I have the books from 2015 but I’d like to study from the 2020. I tried finding them online to purchase but sellers of affordable books aren’t responding.
