Anyone recommend camera system for home? I have a ring doorbell and wondering if I should replace it before I add cameras. I would rather not pay a subscription fee per month and just auto back up to the cloud. But not sure what system is easy to install.

I have a ring doorbell and two ring flood light cameras at each of my three houses (2 of them airbnbs). They’ve worked great, Best Buy installed everything, and app is easy to use.

I am pretty capable and technical. I looked into getting my own NAS and or cloud backup solution as I hated the idea of paying a subscription fee.

When I looked at everything, I decided it was a lot easier to just pay the fee. Handling your own stuff requires a lot of setup time and equipment, and also HDDs fail and need to replaced after some years of use especially if always used like for 24/7 recording.

I used to have Eufy, their cameras have great res. The company has had some security or privacy issues I guess. And since I work with Amazon I was able to sign up for something that got me a free ring sub. I was previously paying for Eufy sub, so with ring I feel like the free sub is kind of paying off the new cameras I had to go buy.

Once I got everything set up, I like the Ring software and app a lot better than Eufy. Seems more reasonable and responsive, I self installed everything and it’s working great.

Whatever you do, put all your smart home devices (except video streaming ones) on a dedicated 2.4ghz WiFi network. Will get better performance and since range is better, improved battery life for non plugged in ring cams.

Very helpful. Thank you!!!

The husband just got eufy and loves it because of it 360 cameras and it’s not like the other systems

Hi Everyone !!!

This June I completed my 9 months at Career Level 12 and Sub Level 3 I.e, CL 12.3 at
Accenture Operations. My Annual Talent Discussion and One-on-One with People Lead is complete as of last week.

I have 3 questions now :
1. When can I expect to move to 12.2 ?
2. What is the general hike I can expect ? And when it is reflected ?
3. When will be the variable pay will be paid out ?

Can anyone here help me with this performance cycle part ? I am really confused.

I recently interviewed with MITRE for a systems engineering role to make the move from Leidos where I feel underpaid for the work I do and for my experience ($85K). I have 4 YOE, a STEM degree, and soon will have a Masters Degree. I’m looking to make around $120K in the new role at Mitre. Does anyone have any insight into comp there? This would be in the DC metro area. Does $120K seem reasonable or am I dreaming?

How do you judge a low ball offer with how the market is changing? Earlier this year, you would look at comps and say this is the value. Now with rates going up and people pulling out, how do you justify the value? (View point from the buyers end)

I'm under contract for a new build in progress that won't be done until much later this year. I fully expect interest rates will be higher than what I originally estimated. I may or may not try to lock in a good rate early, but I'm planning on renting it out and this throws a bit if a wrench in my margins. I can take it financially, but wondering, If I absolutely needed to get out of buying it, what recourse do I have? Or could I go ahead, and refinance later (who knows rates at that time...)?

Having trouble selling my (retired) dad's house. It needs a lot of work, but has great character. What if I buy it myself for a low, low price? Then I would be able to get a FHA 203k loan to do the updates. Rent it out or put it back on the market in the spring.

I'm early in my career, managed to save $30K to invest, and want to get my hands dirty with a rental property without too much risk (e.g. no HML/flipping). It sounds like that's a tall order in the NY/CT area given the prices, not to mention whether I'd be able to get a mortgage on anything below $100K, but I figure I'll give it a shot anyway. Any advice on what you might do in my position? Am I being crazy with this idea?

NJ market - Cousin of mine who has >500 rental properties advised that over next 3 yrs it’s possible for me to get 3 multi-fams if I buy 1 every year for next 3 years, by doing FHA on the first so 3.5% down and then doing less than 10% down on the next 2 if I do it right. Everywhere I read not seeing how that’s possible. can anyone explain pls? Is there a hack that after getting the 1st owner-occupied prop, I don’t have to put more than 10% down on 2nd home, and on 3rd??

Our appraisal came through exactly as the offer price we put. Apparently by lenders 3rd party. Isnt that a bit fishy? If it came in lower our contract has the option to negotiate a bit with seller. Is lender just trying to push this along faster? I'm pretty sure in this crazy market the home is not valued at what we offered. Why would seller put a much lower asking price then? Make no sense. Please advise!

Who is still in denial about a housing correction? The Fed just made another .75% increase. Powell said they won’t stop until inflation is 2%. He also said a recession would be better than the consequences of unchecked inflation. He announced he will bring rates to a “restrictive level” until “the job is done”. He said that labor demand needs to soften (ie: layoffs). He very explicitly said he wants to slash demand and that housing needs a “correction”.
