It is directionally in line with the reality. Big 4 definitely pay much less ( 70k-110k) at Consultant level than MBB ( 150k+) in Canada.

like

Does this control for level? If not, this isn't that helpful. But yes, in general, big 4 does not lay well compared to MBB/Kearney/Oliver Wyman in Canada, so this isn't directionally wrong. The specific data points just aren't useful.

That chart 🤦‍♂️

In Big 4 we are just little fish in a big pond.

Nope. The only surprise for me is EY more than Deloitte/PWC and Ow lower than ACN.

There’s no way associates/junior consultants are making over $100k as an average/baseline.

like

I should’ve mentioned that’s TC

The roles don’t line up. Associate at McK = Senior Consultant at D and we are def paid more than what is listed on that graph.

like

Yup, heard it. However, not sure why it is less.

lol I got the raw data, hopefully this is a better visual

PwC 1 mind sharing your work? I am updating an open data set for this so would appreciate your help

And that's why I left :)

Where are you now? How much was the TC bump?

Ofc not surprised.

like

I find that hard to believe. Deloitte is not less than EY

like

Yeah D being less than EY gave away this chart for me haha

like

BCG associate is equivalent to McK analyst. You are comparing apples and oranges here

like

Nope. Came from a big 4 and the MBBs make you work for that increase in comp. Also like many have mentioned, a consultant at Deloitte is equivalent to an analyst at McKinsey at best.

like

Not even a bit?

The number for OW is for entry level consultant instead of SC or Associate

How much of a salary increase (%) is standard or expected when switching consulting firms for a similar level / role? Currently at 150K and was offered 170K (13% increase) — obviously the total package needs to be considered but the base salary is arguably the most important factor. Appreciate your thoughts & any advice!
