6 or 7 years ago it was an incredible place to work. A startup with outstanding benefits and a culture that cared about its people. In July 2021 the company went public In the London stock exchange and that was the beginning of the end. Directors and shareholders cleaned house and changed the culture from unique and quirky startup to the very thing Wise hated and bragged about not being - a big bank or corporation. Wise also Underpays its employees by about 30% of market value. They used to have a legitimate excuse when they were a startup. They could point to the benefits and say yeah but look at all this cool stuff over here that makes us different. now there’s no excuse. they’re just like The big banks but pay 70 cents on the dollar. Compliance agents at wise start at $26-28 an hour when that’s a 70k job at a major bank. So you’re better off going to work for Chase or Bank of America because at least there they’ll pay you what your worth, and they’ll at least tell you the truth that you’re just a number and are expendable. Wise will lie to your face, tell you you matter and then lay off 307 employees one day by leaving a sign on the door that the office is now closed. Don’t bother. Wise is a shell of what it once was
