Disney Streaming Services I completed my interview process with DSS early last week, and was reached out by recruiter that all rounds were strong hires, and they are extending an offer. We set a time to talk on Friday about the offer. However, the announcement of targeted hiring freeze happened on Friday. I was ghosted with no call. What should I expect now? Would I still have chance to be offered?

PwC asked me for official transcripts as part of my background check. I accepted my offer in October as part of campus recruiting, then the following summer after graduating they wanted the final official version of everything.
You’re boned.
PS I was hired with less than a 3.0, you don’t need to lie to get hired.
So let me get this straight... you want to work in assurance and your introductory handshake to a company you want to work for is to provide fraudulent application materials? Good luck.
EY asked for official transcripts. What type of “fixing” did you do?
You should never lie about grades. However, chances are you won’t get caught, as HR doesn’t have someone comparing resume GPA’s to official transcripts that are usually sent months later.
Honestly, I would start applying to new jobs now with your real transcripts and just realized you fucked up. Before I went to a 4 year school I was at a JC. The big 4 asked for my current "campus” GPA. My campus GPA for my last two years of school were 3.5, but my overall was 2.5. I fucked up when I was younger and didn’t take school seriously which really held back my overall GPA. When I sent my resume and transcripts I wrote 3.5 since they asked for my current campus only, I’m sure they saw the 2.5 and either didn’t care or realized I was going into tax and didn’t lie to them but just bent the truth to the max and became a tax professional in their eyes. Lol
I know someone who did it and she got fired after working at EY for like a year. They wanted official, and when they found out, she was outf the door in two days.
You have no chance of being hired once they run the background check. Same thing happened to a kid we tried to hire, raises serious ethical questions.
Probably have a cut-off on when to ask for transcripts in terms of actual experience would be my guess. But I whole heartedly agree with everyone else, you are trying to come into an ethical profession under a fraudulent premise that you did better than actual performance. Why lie in the first place, accept what you got and look for a place that will accept you. If it’s not the B4, expand your search.
No I’m saying during the application process you can fix up an unofficial transcript to ensure you get an interview. But if you actually get the offer then you send in your official transcript. Nobody looks for discrepancies between the 2. That would be the biggest waste of time
I was an experienced hire and, yes, I had to provide permission for them to request an official transcript. And, yes, if you lie about having a degree they will notice. Don't know what KPMG1 is talking about. HR does not think that is a waste of time.
Mehhh. Can you just say you made a typo on your application if it’s caught?
Get out.
I knew someone who lied about their GPA and was hired. No official transcripts asked for, background check didn’t catch it. Then a few months later they were auditing recent hires... he definitely got fired.
I started with PwC as an experienced hire last year and was not asked for my transcript. Maybe bc I was already a CPA, who knows, but yeah if you’re a campus hire there you will definitely have to provide them. KPMG asked for them back in the day when I interned there btw, don’t think any B4 is going to be letting something like this slide. I think your best bet is to withdraw the application and apply with the real figures.
@PwC4 are your from the washmetro / mid Atlantic market?
I say ride it out. Document your experience and the write a cautionary tale of how you should be honest. It could be in the form of children’s book with cute illustration or maybe we could turn it into a Netflix Original. Those movies are all crap and so obvious 15 min in so this story will be perfect.
So quick question - if you transfer schools will they ask for your new GPA and your old GPA ? Or just at your current school?
I messed up too. I was young, unmotivated , didn’t care for school now I’m regretting this decision :/
KPMG 1- EY 100% does. Don’t know about other Big 4s but OP didn’t mention which big 4
I never sent them official transcripts.
But wow. What did you from from? And what did you put it as?
B4 asks experienced people for transcripts ?
^ yes. I started as experienced and boomeranged after I left for four years. Needed transcripts both times.
Campus recruitment: yes.
Experienced hire: no.
