If it's Verizon at RGA stay far, far away. The business is hanging by a thread, esp the social part.
Heard rga is a mess internally. No process. All swirl. Long days/weekends. BUT they have some great accounts, nice office, and great coffee....so pros/cons
r/ga just went through layoffs. As did Razorfish. BUT Razorfish has some top tier social accounts in NY (Dove , Mercedes) and they won a shit ton of awards last year so perhaps worth pursuing.
What does a community manager do? Haven't heard of this before!
I've seen negative postings about RGA and Razorfish here. I think McCann is alright... I've worked with them before at another agency. Seemed to know their shit.
As a reminder RGA Isn't a social agency. Just know that all the social accounts at RGA are basically a sinking ship.
The good thing w RGA is having it on ur resume. Then get a better job
@Producer 1. Razorfish lost Mercedes to R/GA. **SapientRazorfish isn't even an ad agency (consulting). Plus wouldn't recommend a Publicis agency unless the only thing you care about is having days off.
Got it, nyc. Thanks. I'm in Chicago so have less insight there.
All depends on the accounts
R/GA looks good on your resume, and if you get your hands on one of the massive award winning projects you'll get a job anywhere. However, it's less creative than the typical ad agency, meaning less crazy stuff and less short lived one-off ideas, and quite a bit of platforms and product oriented projects. Their leadership is amazing. Nick, Taras, Chloe and Bob are insanely smart, but in a nice down-to-earth way. Sadly, their wisdom doesn't always trickle down to ECDs and CDs.
McCann is one of the best in the world at the moment, but like any big agency on a roll, it will all change in a year or two. They have hired some really smart people the last few years, their office is pretty sick, and they seem to be on a roll. Have in mind they also do quite a bit of shit work for big clients like Microsoft, Verizon and MasterCard. Some you can spend years trying to make something good on with no success. Rob Reilly is a great inspirational leader and deserves the credit for their accolades, but the ECDs and CCOs for the NY office don't necessarily share the same caliber. If you're looking to boost your resume, but don't care too much about what work you make or you want focus on more digital things: go for R/GA. If you want to make good and creative work, and care less about digital, go for McCann. I'd probably meet Razorfish to get an offer for negotiations, but wouldn't really consider it tbh.
Which city ?
NYC
What city?
All reputable. All depends on the account, the work and chemistry with your team.
👆I disagree with account manager, but fair enough about Verizon.
