Hey there! Does anyone have leads or advice for pursuing remote internship or employment opportunities in IT while in college? For reference, I am beginning my sophomore year in college with 3 majors within CSCI and am working on attaining my A+ certificate then my Network+. I’m a designer in the planning/landscape architecture dept. of a CE firm. Extremely frustrated that after 4+ years and multiple asks, I’m not getting the in-field construction experience I’ve asked for. I know that my designs could be better if I could see how things are actually built but I get slapped in the face with “I need you in the office designing/drafting” or “there’s no budget to have you go out” and then sends an intern to inspect instead. I’m 5 yrs out of college. Any advice?

How do I get a job as a Mechanical Engineer if I dont have experience?

I couldn’t get an internship while in school. I have a BS in ME and projects from school under my belt. I’ve also passed the FE exam. I’ve been mostly just doing CAD for a company for the last year by creating minimally dimensioned drawings and moving parts around in assemblies. I want to evolve in my career and be doing more. I worked so hard to earn my degree and I feel like I’m not even using it. But who will hire me?

I'm in negotiation with the this data company (which is only 10 % over offered fixed ctc) but HR hasn't shown much confidence. They have asked for week's time & say can only offer a signing bonus. I'm getting a bit nervous as it's an opportunity I've always wanted!
