Hi Fishes, I grabbed an offer at Accenture with 12 LPA fixed for Level 9. I'm not getting a retention offer from my current company at 13.5 lpa. How do I go about a counter offer with Accenture HR? Also tell me how to approach this situation smoothly.
If HR doesn't fulfill the counter offer, is it ok to accept 12 lpa fixed for Level 9 and when will I get a hike here and how much would it be approximately?
Accenture Please provide your insights. This is my first switch so I ne more exposure

Reason: I just don't understand why I keep seeing over-entitled perspectives. There IS and ARE great people out there, but they are the minority in the market. Although everyone is posting as if they should just negotiate for 100k and work less than the average and be able to demand ALL the time off and ALL the benefits for an entry level job... I feel like I'm in crazy town here... what is going on!? .... somebody pls tell me I'm not crazy and there are still ppl out there that have work ethic and integrity!
I’ve seen some good/ some bad in my limited experience. I’m from vet med though and see people demanding all kinds of crazy stuff even for entry level / manual labor/ housekeeping type positions! I’m constantly floored. Gen. x / hard working / independent mindset is super dinosaur so I’m trying out any / every method to be an adventurous and flexible leader and definitely not acting my age here! Addendum below- they are right- why work so hard without the rewards?

Having people “buy in” to the mindset to work like it’s their company and they have a say is company manipulation BS that small companies spew to compensate for crazy hours and crap pay.
People are taking an employee mindset because between the pandemic, mass layoffs and trying to manage working in a period that isn’t a global recession but sure as hell feels like one we owe companies nothing.
Employee mindset > employer ALL DAY.
A lot of people have been burned by corporations and this is their way of taking control of things.
Exactly! We’re all disposable to the employer.
Didn't see your comment yet but this app initially started focused on consultants/consulting industry which would explain why you are seeing posts skewed towards the employee mindset, even in the female bosses bowl
There’s also a high percentage of people from tech, which has a huge entitlement problem and I blame for a lot of the “I deserve $300K and four day work weeks and perm remote and I’ll only work 10 hours a week” mindset
I agree there’s a problem with having a lazy but “entitled” work ethic. As a millennial raised by late baby boomer parents I’ve had a decent work ethic instilled in me since I was little. I do however take on a more “employee” based attitude because I do know that I am disposable to my employer, and know that I need to keep my best interests at heart because my company won’t always. There can be loyalty with a sense of self preservation too, it’s about balance in my opinion.
Why pretend to run/own the business? “I get to make all the hard decisions without the liability”….you’re also not reaping profits other than compensation.
Umm…business is about making profit all the time. We function in a capitalist economy. How do you expect the business will continue paying your salary and bonus if there isn’t a profit?
Bowl Leader
This bowl is for women. If there is a specific topic or viewpoint you want to discuss with other women please feel free to do so. I believe there might be a bowl for entrepreneurship? Have you looked for it?
Yeah, this largely an employee app
There are good bosses and bad bosses, good companies and bad companies. When you work for someone you are trading your time and skill in exchange for money, knowledge, and experience. It’s a two way street, both sides need to hold up their end of the bargain. You gain experience and further your knowledge on whatever it is the company does and it’s providing an opportunity for you while being paid for it. They in exchange have someone to train and invest in to gain an exponentially growing skill set to add value to the service or product so they can make money to grow and repeat that.
I’ll tie that into being a woman, when I left my last job I was so upset that they just filled my position when I left, I took it personally. Then I realized my time there was done, someone else needs to learn those skills and I needed to move on to my next chosen path.
Yes I see. I would like to learn more in how to go from 9 to 5 to full time entrepreneur
We (me) are consultants. We sell. I guess it became part of our(my) identity. Very unfortunate. I don’t like it either. I want to speak without filters but I usually do it in women group only. Im not comfortable in other bowls.
