Are in house roles at multinational companies only really available to ex biglaw?

Not all of them.

No but I can see it feeling that way

No. It definitely helps but it is not a requirement. I came from government and the rest of my team is a mix- some big law, some small firm.

Historically, no. In this market, more so but not 100%. If you’re in a niche area of the law and are applying to specialized roles in that niche then it’s less important (government roles come to mind but i’m sure smaller firm this applies to as well).

no im at a multi national and i never stepped foot at a firm

I'm in a multinational company and never worked in big law. We actively avoid hiring from and working with big law.

Had a fight with my MD or let's say more like argument. After that the next 2 months was endless nitpicking and pulling me for mistakes that aren't really in my control.

Post 3 months, I apply for a transfer. Transfer process delayed for some process reasons
No negatives/issues in my f22 feedback. Utilization above target. Way Above average
Recently fired without reason
Who should I escalate to?

I impulsively spent $400 on concert tickets before I left my last job. Now I’m entering my third month at a new job and I’m worried it’s too early to take off to go. At the very least I would have to sign off an hour or two early to be able to make it on time. But I feel awkward asking because generally I wouldn’t take off this early. For context, I have unlimited PTO.

I was one of the big firm stealth layoffs in covid and joined a boutique firm in Sept. They came sort of close to matching my salary but I moved to SoCal and have an opportunity to jump back in to big law and get $100k raise. The people at the small firm are so nice, but hours are nuts and if I’m going to work this much, I might as well get paid more, right? Is it too soon? How do you tell them when the managing partner took you under his wing?
