Have you had/do you have student loan debt? Do you live alone? Are you in a HCOL area? Are you a woman with excessive appearance upkeep requirements as a result of societal pressure just to feel accepted? Did you grow up with friends and family that have experience navigating wealth building under capitalism? I really don’t know what could be the issue.

Continue doing what you are. The rule of thumb is to have worth of 6 months savings of your monthly basic expenses, like mortgage, loans and utilities bills. Once you have that saved up, you can loosen up a bit. :)

Sounds like there is a little worrying in your post. Worrying doesn't help anything. Do you have a budget? If not, set one and fine tune it as more data comes in.
No spouse / kids...:
1. Pay off all non-mort debts
2. Save 6 months of living expenses in liquid assets
3. Pay off mortgage
4. Be generous with your abundance

Hi All

I am getting 45k monthly and 10% tds is being deducted at source so after tds I would get 40,500 Rs. However, I am making my work done from someone else and paying him 30k. I am left with 15k each month. What should I do to save this unnecessary tax I paid? Please help.

Have an acquaintance who is a single mom; she purchased a used car 3 mos ago. Six wks later her 17yo wrecked it, air bags deployed, and estimates have ranged between $10-$18k in needed repairs while $21k is still owed. Acquaintance was switching insurance policies and flubbed the coverage dates and there were a few days where the vehicle was uninsured. No GAP insurance. I'm not seeing many options for her besides to continue pmts, fixing just enough to drive or voluntary repo. Thoughts?

Have money invested in S&P 500, and now starting to regret not having diversified to international stocks as well. Would want to diversify now to buy a total stock market index, however since S&P 500 dropped more than that index, not sure it’s worth to crystallize losses to do that. The alternative is to stop buying S&P 500 and start buying other markets as separate ETFs, to eventually bring in line approx. with total stock market index. Any advice on the best course of action?

Hi Fishes

Joined My new company this Jan. My previous income was not eligible for tax slabs. Now while adding the income from Apr 21-Mar 2022 it's become 5.9 LPA. I don't have any investments and in my new company I declared the same. The only tax exemption I have is PF contribution and professional tax. I have only 25K PF contribution and 2.5K professional tax. So while calculating the tax I am getting 15K as tax payable. How can I avoid this 15k. Kindly pour your suggestions. TIA.

Moving from Canada to the US. Anyone have recommendations on best credit cards to apply for to start building credit and that either leverage Canadian credit or don’t require credit? Have heard Amex and RBC (and a few other larger banks) seem most straightforward but open to ideas.

Anybody waived their escrow and has been paying their property taxes in full? how was it? is it worth waiving it? will you really save some $$ when you do that?

Cross posted: Has anyone ever heard of this type of real estate private equity fund structure:

-One LLC, so only one PPM
-Multiple investors that can be onboarded anytime
-Multiple investments that investors can determine whether or not they want to invest in
-One K-1 per investor based on their investments and income
-Ability for the Sponsor/Fund to invest directly, indirectly and in equity, debt, Pref, etc.
To me this seems extremely cumbersome and would require multiple classes of (cont’d)
