Asking for a friend, at your law firm how long was the maternity leave for TWINS (or other multiples) including paid/unpaid if the birthing mom is the attorney? A number of decent firms allow for six months all in with PTO on top, wondering if people have extended it to even longer in certain firms in certain states! TIA!!

I’ve never heard of a different policy for multiples versus a single child. My firm (big law) is 22 weeks (5 months) and it is the longest leave of any of my lawyer friends

My firm provides up to six months paid, but it doesn’t change for twins (nor should it IMO).

Never heard of a policy that differs between single birth and multiples. My firm’s policy (biglaw) was 20 (or 22, can’t recall exactly) paid with ability to add PTO for up to 5 ish months and then there was an option to add up to 6 months this unpaid with firm approval.

12 weeks. 6 paid by the firm and 6 weeks of short term disability. It was the same policy for people who had a single.

As a neurodivergent professional one thing I’ve never figured out is how to leverage your network to get a job. Specifically, jobs that aren’t publicized widely. Do you straight up just ask? I know I can always ask my references to put in a good word but what about the many jobs that aren’t widely advertised?

Thinking of leaving audit after my second busy season . My main interest in accounting was always the forensic line but got recruited for audit. Now I feel this is the best time to transition. Any advice for someone who wants to start with CPE route instead of CPA (did it a couple of time and did not pass) seeing it as a sign to go for my main interest. Also do I look for position as senior or just Associate. PwC EY KPMG Deloitte

I recently sign a lease. The apartment will put my security deposit into an interest-bearing account and requires me to fill out a form W9. I will join EY this June and just wondering if this is ok in terms of the independence rule. I guess the apartment will put my deposit in some sort of funds. Anyone with EY has experience? Reading the independence brochure, looks like it does not specify something related to this scenario but just wanted to confirm . TIA!
