I have YOE - 5 Y and PGDM as highest education. CTC - 9.35 and have received 3 offers -

Globant (Service) - 15.6 LPA Fixed

TIAA (Product) - 16 LPA Fixed (In Discussion)

Xcaliber (Service) - 16 LPA Fixed

Which will be a better offer considering WLB and growth? Is the salary as per industry standard or should I negotiate for more? Also is it worth moving from product to service company?

Anyone have slow months where you burn through a lot of your allotted pro bono/professional development hours to keep hitting minimum daily hours? The past few weeks have been like this for me. Should I be concerned (I.e., will this reflect poorly on me, come review time? Will I have dug myself too much of a hole if I keep burning my non-billable hours?) I’ve been asking partners if I can assist in any projects so I can fill my plate, but I’ve only gotten small (4-6 hour) tasks handed my way.

Considering a move to UAE and Inhave to major questions:
- How is the SC work life balance?
- I am coming from Europe, is there a big cultural shock?

I’m one of the only attorneys in my Texas firm that had electricity, internet, and water this week. I was warm and comfortable but still could not get any work done because things going on in the outside world are distracting. When I try to work, I feel like I can barely hold a thought in my mind before I get the “wait, what am I doing again?” feeling. Where do you find the time to get everything done in the day when you have multiple partners, associates and equity partners that interrupt you and want things turned around immediately while simultaneously working on deadlines? I feel like I’m the only one that can’t manage a 70+ case load without letting someone down. I constantly have to say “Can I do this tomorrow?” Etc. I don’t even have time to bill on the clock. I work until 7p at least every night. Top 10 family law firm.

Worst luck ever. My group was very slow from Jan through may, so I won’t hit my hours, but am now (and will continue to be) very busy…. About to do 1990 hrs the most painful way possible. Fml.

How many billable hours per week is considered at capacity? I’m getting pushback on boundaries I’m setting about additional matters and marketing work from my firm when I’ve been billing 60-75 hours per week for the last 6 weeks, and I’m still behind on my work. I feel like it’s reasonable to not kill myself further to fit in more/turn things around faster at this point, but am I being unreasonable? I expect my workload to remain at this level through the end of the year at least.

Are FAANG companies really the place to be for SWE’s? I want to work for one but I’m worried about culture & work/life balance.

With the holidays fast approaching, I can't help but wonder why I've pigeonholed myself into a career path that keeps me away from family at crazy hours and days. I miss birthdays, holidays; you name it. Three years in, I can see why divorce rates are so damned high.

Manager was fine with my profile in 2nd round and he said he will move to next client round. HR mailed me next day like like the client band is less and working on it.

Yesterday the HR replied that they can't match my expectation and thanks for applying.
