@author you are absolutely correct. One manager in my team who was there for a very long time became manager in around 7 8 years. There is one sa2 who is currently having 5 year 3 months of total post qualification experience bit was denied promotion to manager.
And recently 1 new manager have joined who is having total post qualification experience of 4 years 3 months.
And these are all CAs and all are having relevant big4 experiences only.
So I totally get what you are saying here.
It genuinely feels like begging to be promoted while other big4 will easily take you for the next rank and then they expect good talent to day there with being underpaid and not giving them promotion.
Those candidates must have MBAs or hold relevant professional certificates. PwC will never make a simple degree holder, Manager is just 5 years.
I joined as a Manager with 6 YOE and hold a MBA. SA in my team have more experience than me but are all just B.coms. I know someone from another team who got promoted to Manager with only 4 YOE, but she was pass out from IIM L. Cannot compare here.
4 YOE MBA =/= 4 YOE B.Com
