Hi Sharks, I am asked to sign the offer letter. It's kind of an agreement between me and the company for accepting the offer and compensation numbers. Of course It doesn't have statments like I have to join the company on signing this. My question is that 1. If I get a better offer can I go and ask them to revise the offer? 2. Can I decide not to join the company? Will there be any legal consequences? Have you ever been asked to sign the offer? Boeing Tata Consultancy Wipro Capgemini Cognizant

Yup. In 6 years I’ve gone from $125k TC for 1800hours to $300k TC working 9-5 by switching on average every 2 years.
Do you mind share how did you find the niche? Inspired by networking? Mentorship? Adjacent practice area? Or just naturally developed during your practice?
Yeah.
The Millenials do this, and I appreciate their leading the way. Our occupation has been toxic for some time. If we did not permit this, change would have been made long ago. We can either just talk about mental health issues or "taking care of yourself," or we can do so.
$45k in 2018. $280k in 2025.
Sounds amazing ~
Back in the day, companies were also loyal to their employees. Now we’re treated as fungible goods, easily replaceable and unimportant. What they give, they get.
Plus, most companies’ job retention budget is a LOT smaller than their recruiting budget. If you want a good raise/promotion, you usually have to leave and go elsewhere.
Thank you for advocating for employees! I’m just unsure how to address in interviews when asked: “Why do you change jobs every 1–2 years?”
Yeah. You leave money on the table staying at a firm for too long. I’m on my third firm in 6 years and I went from 135k to 280k.
Yup. Started @ $50k in 2020, and now @ $135k MCOL area. Switched every 2 years
I see lots of interesting anecdotes, so I will add mine too. Jumped every 1-2 years since 2020, but most of these were well-known short term gigs anyway. I feel like I have now landed in the right spot.
$40k—>$68k—>$72k—>$125k—>$290k.
On your resume question, mine is two pages and has served me well judging by application to interview/offer conversion. I also feel like I have a wide breadth of experience and have met lots of great people by working in different places.
Could you share how did you find your niche practice area?
I’ve only been able to get freelance and short term temp work since graduating law school in 2023, so yes. I’ve done 110 interviews for full time perm roles to no avail.
I don’t have time to wait for the government to hire me. They’re too slow and I smoke weed anyway so that rules me out. I need it to keep sane in this shit job market.
I guess my question becomes- can one page resume still fit after several years?*_*
My resume is one page but if I change again I’ll need to probably go onto page 2.
Thank you! Wouldn’t you worry about being judged as jumping too quickly?
