I think it’s less about being replaced and more about roles evolving. People who can work with AI tools will rise, and those who ignore them might get left behind.

My biggest issue is that there is only so much I can do about it. I can try to upskill in another area, which will also probably be impacted by AI. Be mindful of what's going on and don’t ignore the writing on the wall, but panicking without cause won’t do anything for me.

I haven't been concerned about it to be honest with you, but it seems like everyone is in a panic these days. I just feel that there are so many parts of my job that AI couldn't do. I also don't like to stress about things that are so far outside my circle of control.

Does anyone work in an area with lots of exterior environmental noise (traffic, concerts, trains, etc.) and have tips for not becoming overwhelmed and/or distracted by it? I’m finding that environmental noise has increased near my office now that tourism has picked back up in my city, and I’m struggling to block it out. I’ve tried earplugs but the noises tend to vibrate my office building so the earplugs don’t work well as an entire block.

What would be the best method to transition from a financial advisory role to a more financial analyst focused position? Is this type of move unheard of/too difficult to do?

I applied to a job at KPMG and did the first two rounds of interviews, general interview, then case study and competency. Never before have I had such a positive feedback at the end of an interview of the 2nd, both said really like me, I did well etc.
It's now been 3 weeks since the interview and I still haven't heard back from the team other than the odd HR email saying they are following up with them. Is there something going on internally, I.e hiring freeze in the London office atm?

Advice needed on handing in notice, I recently signed an offer letter and understand the screening process takes 4-6 weeks. I have a month's notice period and have agreed a preliminary start date in Feb.

I was planning on not handing my notice in until the checks had been completed so its all secured (not that I think I will fail any checks), but apparently I need a reference from my current employer not previous ones. Can't really do this without handing in notice can I?
