I’m not that dumb , thankfully.
You can take pictures on your personal phone of all the best presentations and slides. You even have the ability to upload those into ai tools that will recreate them in seconds.
That’s explicitly written in your employment contract to not do. It’s a material breach and they can come after you.
“Intellectual property”
McK explicitly emailed us a compliance / ethics report and have called out incidences of alum using firm IP. Not pretty.
This would be stealing of confidential company or client information.
You have to be careful when doing this. Your laptop is more closely monitored after you give your notice. I would start slowly downloading things over time instead of all at once.
OP, you are the reason I question sometimes how 90% of people ever became a consultant. Come on champ.
yeah as pdfs labeled as tax forms. every tax season i slip a mega document of my best work from the previous year. did it for 3 years until i quit last year to go into industry. smooth sailing :)
For sure. I’m a knucklehead tho so it tracks.

Yes you should do that. To fast track the process, be so kind to CC Legal and HR directly. Saves them the internal alerts.
No, we had to fire a senior MD for this a few years back.
He downloaded a bunch of files from McKinsey when he left. He came here and when McKinsey sued him we fired him. I don’t think that was part of his plan. But who knows 🤷♂️
Print them out? 🤷♂️

B1 - Absolutely we do! I am well practiced in the art of secretly sketching slides of people in my row or the next row who choose to work on airplanes w/o privacy screens.
Everything is tracked and logged these days
I take photos and recreate the slides 😉
I love how every answer is about risk of getting caught and not one person mentioned it’s straight up unethical
Ethics lmao. Good one Carl
Definitely no

Modern DLP will flag this so I'd caution against doing so. The only fool proof way to not get traced is to take physical photos of the docs and recreate them offline. Obviously at your own risk.
You should not be doing that. I would be surprised to see any employment contract where the work you do is not company IP. That can get you in serious trouble

Modern DLP software can't tell when you walk out the door with all your transparencies, just so you know
LOL
Our dlp flags ppt files they would review it as soon as you gave notice
Send to client laptop then fwd to my personal email
