No card is worth a fee that steep.
At least my firm shells out for a haterade fountain 😏
The Lyft rides are well worth it
...March 2022
It’s iffy. I’ve been a big fan of the CSR and at $450 could easily justify it. The extra $100 isn’t made up by the new benefits though. I’m planning to keep it because I think the card at $250 effective fee ($300 travel credit is basically 1:1 value imo given how flexible it is) is still worth it though it’s definitely not a slam dunk anymore
Absolutely. $300 travel credit and Lyft Pink membership fee break even, all profit after that (15% off and 10x points on Lyft rides, 3x points on travel and dining, etc.)
Awesome thank you!
Lol no. The bandwagoners will tell you otherwise though.
IMO, yes. Depends how you’ll use it.
Net fee is $250 if you spend at least of $300 on travel a year. If you use DoorDash there's a $60 credit.
Other benefits include PriorityPass (WITH restaurants), and PRIMARY auto insurance for rentals. And it's trip delay insurance kicks in at 6 hours/forced overnight, which used to be better than Plat but now it's just equal.
I've used these benefits enough that I find it worthwhile, but you'd have to do enough travel.
Don’t forget that in addition to the perks from chase and it’s partnerships, the card also gives you perks with Visa Infinite
It is worth it.
Old perks at $450 were a way better deal... will I drop it now it’s $550? No... Well played Chase 🧐
Depends on how much personal travel you do, and/or whether you can use a personal card for business travel. If you have to use a corporate card, it may not be worth it...I found that the preferred card is a better deal since I have to use my Corp Amex for work travel and I can just tie that to my personal Amex to get MR points.
With the doordash credits its only a $40 increase in fees.. ($550-$450-$60)
10x CSR pts x 1.5 cent valuation = 15% return on lyft spend
Previously 3x CSR pts for lyft => 4.5% return
So every dollar i spend on lyft will get me 10 cents closer to making up the extra $40. If I move $400 that i used to spend on uber to lyft, I’m already as well off as I was before the change-up.
Tldr: if you lyft a lot for work its actually much better
