That brings up a good point. What I'd rather have currently is a promotion into a better role. Which, I'm told, is not currently possible. So a raise would not change that, but, hey, a raise would still be good to have.
Yeah, I totally get that. When you’re stuck in a role that no longer feels like the right fit (or is just straight up holding you back), a raise can feel like putting a Band Aid on a broken leg. It’s nice to have more money coming in, but it doesn’t fix the bigger frustration of being told you're not ready
I do feel that not enough people are asking themselves this. Certain roles are always going to be capped. Getting a raise in your current position is not always feasible. Sometimes, it’s moving to the next level and getting into that new pay band that matters more.
