It's good to ask and see what they say. But you should be prepared to justify the amount you're asking and be compelling with your pitch. There're no fixed caps in the industry today, if you can sell it, you'll get it. Also try to have one or two more offers at hand while negotiating - it provides more leverage and confidence, just in case. But don't bring this out at the outset, mention about other offers only when needed. All the best!

I think 9lpa is reasonable.. you can mention that you are underpaid while negotiating I did the same n it worked for me also prepare well for the interview as you need to show that you are excellent candidate n if it suits their requirements you can get even more than what you have asked for because they might not want to lose you
