The Sterling Group is the largest non energy MM PE firm I believe. There are others too I’m sure but smaller.
Milton St Capital is another; it’s founded by former Sterling professionals

Sterling is best you’re gonna find for non energy but industrial focus
Mercury Fund is probably your best bet for a VC firm in Houston, though it’s not quite as big as firms in Austin.
Not many non-energy
Why not Energy though?
DFW on the table?
Yeah a lot more options there for sure
Was going to stay sterling, GIP is a bit more infra focused but definitely still not “generalist”
A tiny KKR infra office as well but it’s a handful of people and many are still energy focused
Non-energy in Houston lol? Let us know when you find one
Have you considered Dallas or Austin?
Not opposed to either but Houston is preferred city
