I haven’t tried much in Southside but OK-U in Jax Beach is the best I’ve had in the city!

Idk about a snob but I really like Sushi Factory over on Butler and A1A. Good value when comparing prices to portions, super polite/friendly staff, never gotten any part of a takeout order wrong. Only dined in 3x but they were all good
Not sure what things you are snobby about.
Here's what I've tried around the SS area.
I'm a regular at the Sushi House on Baymeadows at Southside. The family remembers it's regulars which is a nice touch service wise and it's one of the absolute cheapest places to get sushi. In 10+ years, I've rarely had an issue with my food and if I have, they've taken care of it. Ive fallen into a regular order of my favorite roll so your mileage may vary as with anything.
Further South to Phillips Hwy, Phillip Sushi has given me mixed results with service and it fell out of the rotation as a result but years back I liked it. (down the road is a Sushi Factory that I've tried 1x and had such bad service that I never went back and it's all I remember about it, probably should give them another chance)
Heading North, I also like Yummy Sushi across from Tinsel Town and I think Oiishi was good too (tinsel town side of SS in that area) but I've only tried it 1-2x.
Honorable mention also goes to Kazu in Mandarin (just a sit-down, not a sushi burrito assembly line although you can order that if you want). Mandarin and Southside are equal distance for me. I find Kazu to be a bit more expensive so I often skip it for a cheaper alternative but I'm obsessed with the tuna dumplings there.
