Hello Fishes,
Most of the managers treat the employees serving NP as their enemy and there are high chances of argument with them. Any thoughts on what worst they can do with employee who is serving NP but have good track record previously.

Several years ago had a case pending in US District Court for Guam. Our morning filing deadlines were wild
Come on man you know the answer to this
6pm.

6pm is better but I’m also someone’s mom so 11pm happens sometimes.
Had several cases on the West Coast over my last decade in biglaw - I’m on the East Coast. Had way too many filings going in at 2:45 am or so my time - and almost all briefs were filed after midnight. Sometimes the lead partner wouldn’t even send me their “final” comments until midnight.
One of the upsides of moving to midlaw recently has been that all of my cases are in the same time zone as me! Another is that it is not assumed that I’m going to be available to work any time, no matter what - so late night filings are not the norm, for anyone.

There may be a local rule about this.
Litigation in a nutshell
5 pm
Sometimes the additional five hours can make all the difference. Always great to shoot for an earlier deadline so that everyone gets to leave work at a normal hour but the reality is if you have a later deadline and you can improve the product then use the time.
This doesn’t make sense to me. Shifting the deadline up by 5 hours isn’t going to change anything—there will still be the mad dash at the end to finalize regardless of what time of the day it is. If next month the court changed the deadlines to 6:00 and you had notice of it for more than 2 weeks, your work product would be the exact same as it is for an 11:59 deadline.
