I took a bath today and worked off my phone while soaking in epsom salt after lifting weights for half an hour. I have no billables because I’m in house.

Not having to bill would be even better. For me at least.

That's shocking to me. The one Plaintiff firm that reached out to me was $50k less than I made on the defense. I'm sure it just really is the firm. I've never seen a Plaintiff firm job posting near what I made.

I recently had a specialist partner send me a fairly nasty email after I (a transactional first year) was told to ask them to review something ASAP that had clearly been on my partner’s radar for over a week. Why am I taking the (honestly justified) blame for this? Surely it should be obvious that I’m just the messenger here.

Transactional associate. Lateraled 6 months ago and one of the biggest pain points has been my new firm’s inclination to “hop on a call”, which of course requires every single stakeholder to join. The end result being every call has 25 people on it and nothing actually gets done because no one wants to ask a question that could come off as silly. It’s destroying my ability to get anything done during the day. It’s a complete performance and it drives me nuts.
