I had final techno manager round which was completed on 30 Mar, and after ugadi holiday, on 6th I have received the positive feedback and confirmation mail and asked to share the payslips and relevant documents. Still waiting for the offer letter. Called HR on 20th April for the updates, she told she is working on my offer and it will release soon. Any ideas on this fishes?Cerner Corporation

You get paid 150% your rate for overtime! (Or they cap your hours at 40 per week)
I wish I got OT bump but I can’t really complain. Freelance is so much better than staff.
You don’t have annual reviews! And you’re not forced to go to social events if you don’t want to!
Heaven!
I know people talk about how difficult it is. To be honest, it’s been a year of job and job coming to me. I haven’t had to do any outreach but just through LinkedIn recruiters message me. It’s been a great year, sure, some anxiety sets in the second i finish a job and don’t have another lined up. But I’m learning to enjoy those weeks off and trust that money comes and goes. The universe will take care of you. And if I need to, I can go work at a coffee shop or grocery store. It will be ok and a difficult but fulfilling learning experience for you.
This brought me back down to earth
Decent year over here. Stalk that network of yours, be a good work friend, you'll be alright.
Also gonna gross about 70% higher this year than I ever made working FTE.
...with a month long vacation.
Huge! Congrats ✨
It seems to be getting better…. Slowly but it is
I went freelance in May and work has been steady. I took two months off and I’m on track to make more than my annual salary when I was full time. The hardest part was shedding 10 years of toxic agency brainwashing.
Some things that helped me land gigs:
- looking in other markets (I’m in Canada and often work in the States remotely)
- reaching out to other freelancers (sometimes they get booked on two jobs and need to give one up)
- was open to work in-house (they pay decent and the work/life balance is sublime)
Ooh good idea re: working outside markets, I’m also in Canada
Me too 😭 following this
Freelance is great and you can make as much as staff with a lot more days off, but to protect against sudden long gaps in work, best to have more than one client at once to dial up or down the work from each as your availability shifts.
