Yeah, I noticed that too, super annoying. LinkedIn keeps locking down features that used to be free, and this one feels especially petty. Like, come on, at least let us see a couple of names without forcing Premium. Guess they really want that subscription money.
I’ve been looking for a tech sales job for a while what are some requirements recruiters look for on resumes
They just want you to pay. Fight the urge to know who is looking at your profile and you'll be good.
Even if you pay for premium you still can not see everyone who views your profile. So don't bother with premium.
Who view the viewers profile you included.
People are still using LinkedIn?
I have gotten 90% of my contract jobs through linked in since 1996. It works great for me.
LinkedIn has become less and less useful. It’s pretty much has become another Facebook.
😂 - combine our desperate need for validation/dopamine addiction with some 50% off a 3-month subscription and they can make their “growth” numbers based on millennials who forget to cancel their subscriptions.
Even when you pay they don't tell you much as most recruiters pay not to be revealed.
It's almost like LinkedIn isn't spending time on anything except cash grabs. Like removing all ghost or resume collection job posts for example....
Ever since Microsoft purchased it. Before LinkedIn was acquired, as long as you let others see that you looked at their profile, you could see who looked at yours. Completely free.
“Free” definitely relates to age.
I don’t remember mine ever being like that, however I never had many views anyways. Would just be the whole list for 4-7. The value for premium just isn’t there for me. Anybody have it? I used to hear it was great if you were job hunting but that was a couple years ago.
I just downgraded from LinkedIn Premium. It seemed like a huge waste of time and money. I've had premium for about 2-3 years. I've had maybe two or three interviews during that time. I've received lots of contact from recruiters. But we all know how they tend to ghost us. In the end, I just went with the free version. I got my current job with the free version. I went to premium when I decided to job seek again. I will either get lucky with the free version or stick to my old job. Paying for premium just isn't worth it. It's said that you get more access to profiles and learning opportunities, but I already get learning opportunities, and most of them are free. As for profile access, it didn't do much good before, so I see no benefit now. It's just not worth $29.99 month. Even if you pay the annual fee of $99 over the monthly fee, it just seems to be a wasted expense.
I was getting tired of all the gatekeeping in the industry so I made a slack channel that uses Deep Seek and Perplexity to find leadership contact info with your job search, please donate and keep the channel going, hosting is expensive:

Yup, LinkedIn is a private company so they’re just doing what they were meant to do. Make money.
Meaning they can do what best interests them as a private company.
Personally I never liked the feature of seeing names of people searching me. Yeah I guess it's cool people care enough to view your profile but I also like the the suspense of not knowing. Like my teenager would say, it's a little cringe that you're being trolled so I'm fine without the feature 🙂
The jobseeker tier (really all of them unless you’re a recruiter or in sales) are a joke. The absolute gall to ask $40+ a month for features that are useless.
Want to see the qualifications of the other job seekers and question your self worth and stress about it, while having absolutely zero control over any of it?! We got you.
For me, this feature comes and goes randomly. However, I’d like to emphasize what others have already mentioned, as it may not be entirely clear. Even when you pay, you can’t see most people because those who subscribe to the recruiter plan only appear as "Recruiter of Company X." As a result, we still don’t see the majority of users since almost everyone is a recruiter.
Even with Premium, we don't get to see all. That's probably because some people snoop around anonymously!
Wow, how were you utilizing that? For leads for your company?
Ahh okay
Thanks Mr. Gates
I found someone who can activate 12 months premium account. For fifty bucks
Former MS employee here, pretty sure someone is selling their discount voucher, not worth risking a job at MS if you ask me...
Have you ever had anything useful happening to you, after knowing who viewed your profile? It's such a stupid feature, if somebody was actually interested in offering you something, they would messaged you already.
This is nothing new, it's part of the Premium membership.
It’s changed for me at least. See original post.
