Can someone help understand the ctc offered to 9 years experienced professionals in lateral hiring for a BA role ? HSBC

I really need advice. I’ve been in my current role for a couple years and I’m just so defeated. I am good at my job. I work so hard and I’m so undervalued and unappreciated. My work is scrutinized to a degree that no one else experiences (I could give concrete examples of other people delivering design work that haven’t met BASIC design principles and it’s gotten approved) compared to me where I frequently get feedback that somehow makes my work worse but I just comply because it’s not (1/2)

A director in another unit wants to meet me to “continue a conversation we started last year”. He is referring to the time I had asked him if there were openings on his team. That was over a year ago. I am not too happy where I am right now ( I stayed where I was). I also don’t know if he really has an opportunity or if this is just some corporate circle jerk where my current director is trying to “smoke me out”. I don’t speak poorly of my team/work. Hi guys, I got an offer from x and i discussed that with my current. At 1st current said they can only give 30% increment. I said I can't stay with this cause i got 70% and expect at least 50%(as the 70% included VP and the current org don't have vp, they have bonus). Then they said they can do max 45%. I really wanted to stay here so I said okay to current. Then now hr called me and said they are matching the offer(no vp). What should I make out of it? What made them change their mind?
