Can someone please explain how bonus decisions are made? For example if your base comp is 120 and your target bonus max is 10%, what exactly does that mean?

If you perform well and achieve the 10% target you would only get 12,000? Is that correct?

I have practiced for five years and make $121k as an employee of a financial services company. As the only attorney, I oversee all statewide collections efforts, from demand letter to garnishment, with a case volume of nearly 7k new cases per year, of which the majority I end up litigating. I receive only a $1k bonus per year. Is my compensation fair? My last insurance defense gig was $75k.
