Yup, Porsche is known for their exorbitant maintenance and repair costs… it depends on how often you drive, how you drive and how many miles you put on it… there’s a reason the warranty and complimentary maintenance isn’t the best…
The best advice I ever received, and I heard this multiple times from different people… pay what it costs to buy new… buying a used Porsche, even slightly used, you have no idea what the previous owner put the car through… it could have been a casual driver, to “look cool”… it could have been put to work and used as the machine it is… plus, it’s yours and only yours, the feeling of taking delivery… you’ll thank me later…
I have a 2022 718 Cayman GTS 4.0… I just ordered a 2026 911 Carerra 4 GTS, should be here by Christmas and I’m stupid excited… The wife has a 2025 Macan 4S Electric…
If you find one that’s 4-5 years old, and you think it’s a great deal, pause… it’s out of warranty, and someone probably presented the owner with a $7-8K repair bill and they said, what can I get for it…
If you can swing it, buy the VSP and PSMP, if you plan to keep it longer than a lease… it adds ~$20K to the cost, but at least you’re financially protected…
She was my first… and will always have a place in my garage… 😂
I have a 2023 Cayman. Honestly monthly is just the high fuel costs. It’s really the 10k mile stuff that is more expensive. Oil change is 500. Tires are 500 each
How much are you spending on gas?
Right now, I have a 21 CT5-V and I get like 16 mpg combined. Is the fuel economy similar?
👀
I’ve only owned mine for 10 months but I daily it (6k miles so far). Have two sets of wheels & tires (~$2,250 for winter set) and full front ppf, wife has suv if there’s real snow. Base and S are easier to daily than a gts because of cabin/ road noise but this is a real sports car so it’s low to get into and you feel the imperfections in the road much more than a luxury sedan.
Independents do better on service costs but arguably better resale if you do your maintenance at Porsche (if you’re one of those people).
Porsche tax is only when you service at the dealer tbh
