I was offered RSUs for the first time as part of my compensation. I think I understand the concept as such but there are a few intricacies I was looking to clarify. Could anyone let me know if my grant date is 9th nov, 2022 and vesting period is 1 year, will I get RSUs allotted at the price of stock on grant date or vest date (in this case 9th nov, 2023)? I have a question about energy levels and electrons. I teach 10th grade. What is more appropriate: saying the 3rd energy level can fit 8 or 18?? Technically if you include the d orbital it’s 18 correct? But then when you draw potassium you only put 8 on the 3rd energy level and 1 on the 4th….. after 10 years of teaching I STILL second guess myself. Thanks!!

Any favorite online lab simulations? We already use PhET and Gizmos.

For students who don't fit the traditional Chem profile, we offer Chemistry in the Community (ChemComm) from the American Chemical Society. The SI is wanting to "reevaluate" our course offerings and make sure we have "the right class" going forward. So now I'm on a committee. Does anyone have any recommendations for entry-level Chem classes? Or do you use Chem Comm and recommend sticking with it? (we've had it for 20 years, but its my first year teaching it due to a retirement).
