Has anyone attempted lab “kits”? A small set of materials you send home with a kid to do a lab at home?

From a financial standpoint in this market, which would be a better approach in Austin -

1. Buy a ~8-850k house that meets most of our ideal criteria (size, schools, interiors etc) to stay long term

2. Buy a ~5-550k house that’s not ideal with the plan of moving into an ideal home in 4-5 years when kid is ready for school.

How easy is it to get a mortgage for the second home?

Currently our monthly expenses are around 22k(max), and my CCTC is 15 LPA+ with 8+ YOE.

Abused and isolated as a kid. I have terrible memory. Like I don’t really remember the past few months except in broad strokes and memories of my childhood are more non existent than existent. Perspective: monogamy is anti-human nature; in this era where each parent could raise a kid independently, marriage tends to be a shackle on many aspects of life. We live once, why does society expect us to live with 1 person for 60+ years? No wonder divorce rates are through the roof!

Anyone have advice for advancing in your current role? Working on a divorce where the father is claiming that he is unemployed because of the previous administration’s actions with DACA (he was brought to the States as a child). I know that the memo rescinding DACA was ultimately vacated—but OC is unsure whether this would count as voluntary unemployment for child support purposes. Hi ladies, I'm in my mid 40s and I think I'm entering peri. I currently have a Mirena but I should replace it again soon, but one more will put me into my 50s(!!) and I was wondering if anyone here knows that they're in peri or menopause without having periods. Chemistry labs for middle school? Especially metals and salts

For students who don't fit the traditional Chem profile, we offer Chemistry in the Community (ChemComm) from the American Chemical Society. The SI is wanting to "reevaluate" our course offerings and make sure we have "the right class" going forward. So now I'm on a committee. Does anyone have any recommendations for entry-level Chem classes? Or do you use Chem Comm and recommend sticking with it? (we've had it for 20 years, but its my first year teaching it due to a retirement).

I have a question about energy levels and electrons. I teach 10th grade. What is more appropriate: saying the 3rd energy level can fit 8 or 18?? Technically if you include the d orbital it’s 18 correct? But then when you draw potassium you only put 8 on the 3rd energy level and 1 on the 4th….. after 10 years of teaching I STILL second guess myself. Thanks!!
