If you worked at a firm prior to your clerkship, you can use a recruiter. If not, it depends on the firm. Some firms have job posts for clerks up on their website. If not, just apply to the TX recruiting contact. Top clerks from appellate clerkships have offers. So it’s go time.

Make sure your apps are perfect then apply ASAP. Just go onto their website career pages and submit. If someone in lit in that office went to your law school maybe cold email them and ask to speak with them, but that’s only necessary if you don’t get movement after applying.
Most firms don’t let you work with the recruiter coming off of a clerk ship so I would just apply directly .
