This! I’m in-house. Given it’s an ongoing relationship, depending on the project, I’ll email the junior directly. If I need the partner involved, I’ll most likely call him directly. But my client relationship is definitely not with the junior! Ha.

I was in a similar position and complained about it. Ended up in a fight with the partner and practice group leader which I gained nothing from. We still tiptoe around each other almost 2 years later. Would not recommend.
I learned to accept that the game is long and the surest path to victory is to avoid quitting, which requires letting your frustrations go.

Remember this for when you make partner. And lateral to a shop that gives credit for expanding a client relationship.
(You might consider that your firm likely sees it as you doing your job and what you’re asking for is extra credit not credit)
