Fuck that...I agree with the client director. Write the name of the font out in the email. Why be so lazy? Or put them in a spec sheet or provide them in a brand guidelines. A lot of these clients these days are just extremely lazy and under qualified.
I’m no expert, but there are at least half a dozen web based tools for this explicit purpose.
Use https://www.myfonts.com/WhatTheFont/
That actually seems like a reasonable ask...
Will try this. Hope it works for identifying Mandarin fonts 😬
I could be missing something here. How do I identify a font purely from a jpg non-editable file....?
Why the hell do you only have JPGs? Who traffics ads as JPGs? Get a PDF, and your problem is solved. Or try using whatthefont to figure it out from the image.
No brand guidelines?
I’d just pick some other fonts I’d reco instead and not leave it up to the client to say specifically what they want.
Recommended more than a few font options and this was the client response anyway 🙄
Nope!! 😄
They may ask because a lot of designers are type freaks and know lots of useless information like knowing every good typeface ever made...
Send us a link to something... we’ll help!
VP1 is spot on. This is a lazy client being a jerk and making us do their work for them. Again...
