When I told my SM at EY I was leaving to go to FDD, he said “for the love of God I just hope for your sake you’re not going to KPMG” lol what is going on over there haha
Interviewed with the NYC office and it was definitely strange, ended up going with EY!
Also has not been my experience. I am in NYC and it has been great. Some weeks are long hours, but that was expected. Team I have been working with is great and so are the 2-3 partner/md’s I primarily work with.

K7 - I mean, that’s great - doesn’t get at what I’m asking though unfortunately. Looking for input from more experienced mid tier professionals. Im fully aware of the ordinary motivations for quitting. That isn’t getting at the heart of the issue though.

I was in audit at KPMG and interviewed for internal transfer but Jesus Christ they work you like a sweat shop. I know other people in audit that transferred and worked past midnight for weeks on end. The culture is so toxic in FDD. Thank god I got an offer elsewhere.

The sense I get is KPMG has been very revenue driven the last couple of years. That means lowballing projects before Covid brain drain, and not turning down projects now. Though it’s all YMMV depending on firm and office so this is not unique to just one firm.

I’m not really sure about this stuff.

I can’t really compare cultures between other offices but my experience has been positive. I’d probably go as far and say I’d be scared to jump to a competitor because I have a hard time seeing how it could be any better.

I’m from a L/MCOL office. Small team. We are super tight knit
I just left KPMG FDD and joined A&M. I’m happy with the move. The hardest part is rebuilding your network and developing friendships but those just take some time and is to be expected. It was 100% the right move for me.

Thanks A&M1 - that’s why I suspected (had to be more than beyond just comp.). Will PM you.
Pwc2 - totally agree.
I was considering applying to FDD at KMPG. Do you mind if I ask why your experience has been so bad?
That’d be wild to go in as a manager in FDD - heavy senior with 1 year promo timeline would make more sense
Ohhhh daang. I would never pursue internal transfer then..
Yes I am afraid of that politic part as well
There will likely be a better culture than what you are used to, but as always it can depend on what office you’re in / who you’re working with. I can give you some insights into RSM FDD if you’re interested. Feel free to send me a DM
Hard to quantify culture to explain to someone. I’d say good, but its all relative. DM me and I’ll give you the internal reference to you can meet with the team and make an assessment.
I just left EY and joined a small boutique with a great culture. DM me if you’d like to hear about it.
How’s the Houston office?

Got it. I don’t know much about AAS.
What constitutes a bad fdd toxic culture? @op how bad is your office’s experience on a 1-10 scale lol

I would rather not provide specifics here as I’m worried it will give away my identity. But theres what I have experienced, and then too stories I have heard before I worked here. Judging by the comments here from other firms, it’s not in my head/all made up.
While OP may have had an indifferent experience, there are many who would swear by KPMG’s culture. You can always just leave with some dignity. You just seem angry and entitled the way you are trashing your current employer. Hopefully you are gone soon before you intoxicate others especially new associates and interns.

Geez idk how KP8 comes to consider OP entitled. At the end of the day we get paid for the work we do and if anything, firms typically get the better end of the deal given salary has lagged behind market unless you jump ship.
Also half of this app is about venting about your firm, shouldn’t be too surprised to see complaints considering how bad turnover has been.
