Hello fishes,
Need help.
YOE: 10.5, java
Offers in hand:
Evoke technologies - 28lpa
CDK global - 30 lpa
Ness technologies -30 lpa
All are fixed components.
Which one to choose?
I prefer to have WLB, job security, decent hikes to stay long term in the company.

Hi there, I have 3.5 YOE working for NHS Finance. I applied to Deloitte Risk Advisory, Public Sector (London, UK) and was successful. Waiting to hear back with package offer but it’s been over 2 weeks - was told they may offer M2 grade, any ideas what this is?
I’m also interviewing for Senior consultant role also at Deloitte. How much would this typically pay?
Torn whether to stay within NHS as I will be getting an internal promotion or move to Deloitte.
What’s the WLB like? Good job security?

I did that a long, long time ago and switched back after a bit over a decade.
At the time there were three key reasons for me to flip my badge:
1) I wanted to see what it was like as a fed with end to end ownership
2) Stability (I never felt like my career lacked stability pre-flipping my badge, but it was more of a safety blanket)
3) The pension
Of those three reasons, the first two still hold true if I were to consider going back to fed, though the pension is a markedly worse deal now than it was pre-2013.
WLB was a wash for me, comp was not an improvement as a fed, and benefits weren't drastically better as a fed, either.
I *might* go back for a short while before I retire so I can carry fed health insurance into retirement, but that is the only thing that's a selling point for me on the downward slope of my career vs staying on the contractor side.
Thank you so much for sharing all these details.
Just adding my 2 cents but BAH 1 did a great job giving an overview. I actually made the switch from a contractor to a fed because of more flexibility with remote work, the mission, and better WLB. It depends on the agency you work for but I can honestly say I’m glad I made the switch. My contractor job was with Transportation and I was getting burnt out. Not to mention my colleagues now are a lot more motivated than prime and sub contractors I used to work with.
Cons:
- I took a pay cut (about 15%) but after about 1.5 yrs I’m back to my previous pay. Compensation in general is not competitive with industry.
- promotions seem to be way more subject to that years’ appropriations from Congress and headcount
I’ll probably stay at my agency for 5ish years, exit to private sector then come back when I’m closer to retirement age.
