Stuck in same company for 7 years without growth, working in production support without skilling in latest technologies. Started learning React and want to shift on React frontend path. In pre onboarding form epam is asking contact number and email id of ex supervisors and hrs from my past organizations. I don't have contact details of my managers with whom I worked 8 years ago. How well does he know you and what you do
You need to have an Usp- most projects have strict anti poaching rules
Not well but he knows who I am and attends the weekly status call for the project I'm leading. He knows we're selling more work at my client because of my project. I've met him in person maybe 4 times.
You need to define a brand that D wants
For example on my previous projects- there were some niche utility specific skills another competitor had, something which D would consider "hot skills"
You need to build a story of what you bring to the table. You've only met this guy 4 times. It's going to be a tough sell even if he knows your name and thinks you do a good job.
Also you need to consider the poaching rules. Most projects with multiple firms have an unspoken noncompete. As much as we want our clients to believe that we're at the frontier of though leadership/market changes/etc. Firms are generally very very conservative.
How long are you on this project for? Can you wait it out? Build up your rapport with him during that time then jump afterwards ?
If you are qualified just find a recruiter... firms are always hiring and if your resume gets through then maybe approach him
