Who has seen the viral flying Tesla??🤣🤣🤣
Countdown... beginning now
Thought this was interesting. Across 160 teams of researchers, just about all failed to make good life outcome predictions on things like GPA, evictions, layoffs, and others. Data followed 4.5k families across 15 years, with 13k features (varied over time). Haven't looked at it directly yet, but will be turning the docs and data inside out... In the meantime, authors claim this as showing the limits of ML. Oh, and it's published in PNAS, so you know there's some big publication energy there.

Just go around the horn and see if they have completed something that allows another team member/work stream to move forward with that object. Second question is are they blocked with anything, if yes, ask what they need (DO NOT TALK THROUGH THE SOLUTION DURING THE SCRUM) and take not of the follow up required in your end. If not blocked, onto the next. Scrums should highlight completed items that other impacted areas care about and highlight blockers, not be a status update.
We mixed it up a little bit. Focusing on the work and not the individual.
- kanban board style template - holy bible for scrum stand ups. Even teams has it now.
- status of to be done and doing items
- impediments and resolution decisions (not solutioning) but next steps to resolve
- anyone else have anything that is stuck or waiting on someone else
Rinse and repeat.
This is a good list. I’d add try avoid status that is reported as a percentage of complete because they are typically BS numbers.
I really like the point of focusing on the object/feature rather than person assigned to it.
