I just want to go to sleep. If it gets done, I don't really care.

Lol same! I also would like to go to sleep and stop having this partner keep me up for no reason! And feel bad for keeping you guys up. (Coming off a particularly annoying morning if you can’t tell 😂)
I’m also in a specialist group and in the same position. I usually message the corporate associates on the side to let them know what’s going on.

Same.
I always saw it as us associates against the partner. Never assumed it was because of the associate.
Agreed, and you can always send a one-off to the corporate associate to say that you are following up with the partner and trying to get his sign off on your comments asap.

I'm a specialist, too, and when partners are late with things they'll generally pipe in ("I'm the holdup" etc.) which I've always assumed was a way of taking any heat off the associates. Bummer that your partner doesn't do this.
Honestly, I don’t hold much against specialists. Really, I’m just following up so much because my partner is making me, so if anything it might just piss the partner off (and partner would much more likely to hold it against specialist partner than associate)

Who cares? Do the best you can, don't care so much what others think and what they hold against you. The people who are close to you, hopefully, know these things. Everyone else does not matter.

Aw man. Maybe I’m an asshole because I never cared. There’s one partner I don’t even wait up for because I know it’s not coming.
Enthusiast
Don’t wait up. It’s not your problem. Just go to sleep.
Coach
Just sidebar the corporate associate and let them know it’s with the partner. I’m corporate and that’s what people do to me, and then I tend to chase on the main thread so the partner is prompted to hurry up and review, whilst me and the specialise associate both know that I know it’s the partner’s fault.

I assume it’s the partner 100% of the time
