No matter what the leadership claims, you are still at the mercy of your boss or boss's boss politics, favoritism, the so called learning score (which is a practically useless, outdated, badly designed system), the 10 hr trutime, bell curve appraisal system and bosses hiding behind the quota, lack of empathy, bad work life balance without much learning scope, unrealistic expectations and project planning, a wasted talent management system, low hikes, randomized promotions, etc. Add bad immigration and visa policies internally that doesn't help most employees.
In short, it's a body shop and can't expect anything good unless luck favours you.
The previous leadership was as bad as the current one. The thing we're seeing now is that it's reaching the breaking point. The organization grew in headcount so fast and it failed to mould and adapt accordingly and continued with the old practices
Pro
its because they treated their employees as use and throw commodities. Nobody likes to work in an uncertain environment.
Plus there is some sort of domino effect… ppl are leaving as they see their peers leave…
I just resigned from cts due to its pathetic work culture and harassment
agree
Cognizant is failing to retain mid experience level employees. It is mostly because of politics in most of the big accounts. Cognizant is not giving values to the employees who have worked day and night during the first covid outbreak, during the malware attack. Politics in promotion, change in policies in every quarter, paying an amount of salaries to old people that is way below than the market standard is the cause of the downfall.
And also when your peers are keep leaving the organization, it surely creates an insecurity to you as well.
If I am not wrong cts is giving very good retention offer. Changing the salary structure but in tcs nothing 😂😂😂😂 some people are getting retention incentive but no salary structure change
Uncertainty about jobs and always in the spotlight for negative stuff. That impacts alot. Check TCS, it gives less salary compared to industry standard- still the lowest attrition in industry.
Important thing is GOOD RESOURCES ARE LEAVING. Huge number of Freshers joined. So ther is huge gap in teams. Seniors are suffering now.
Every year during Jun-Sept, CTS comes up in the news stating a number of people being layed off and that too consecutive years.
Better work roles outside and 0 job security would be the reason for this kind of attrition.
Spent 3.5 years there as an SC MBA hire. None of my MBA hire colleagues were promoted or received meaningful raises while I was there. Some spent 5 years as an SC.
Meanwhile they would hire in M, SM, and ADs with less experience than some SCs.
At a certain point that way of doing things will destroy a company. Looks like it caught up with them. Good riddance.
Rising Star
Senior Leadership woes. MR Humphries is struggling.
I think it's just the herd mentality in human. There is nothing wrong in the company now. New CEO fired many senior employees who are there for long time and as a result they are taking revenge and creating an environment so that people get afraid. Now they have more projects then employees. They are giving good retention pkg. Entire leadership is changed now. Personally if I get an offer with good hike I will join
It all started with a new ridiculous rating system,10 hours work & worst promotion rules which made resources leave. Since retained resources got more package than existing resources everyone started 2 hunt 4 job offer & started 2 move out if the external company gave better offer.
One of the biggest reason for the attrition and burnout is the 50hour work week.
10 hours a day.
When WFH ends(December 2021), You would be spending 12 hours a day, makes it atleast 60hours a week.
10% hike is not enough for such a situation.
Any plans of CTS bringing peole back to office ? And timeline?
Plus, is it mandatory to work for 10 hours every day?!
Its because hikes are so low and slow (you get after 10 months post end of appraisal cycle). Its only good if you are getting onsite opportunity. Else take hike and leave in couple of years.
Any improvement in the situation in Cognizant?
