Second part of your question, answers your query. An onsite stint is a no guarantee carrot that managers dangle to stop folks from leaving.
Ask them if they can give 28LPA if the visa process fails or due to some other reason you could not go to US. IN WRITING....
Hahaha... Okay
If you have a 28LPA offer now, you'll get one again. The onshore opportunity won't be easy to find though.
Some risks are worth taking or you'll spend your life thinking "what if"
I can understand your situation. A 100% hike is not easy to let go.
If you have contacts in the US, ask them how the whole "post pandemic" situation is shaping up. From what I've heard, there are more vacancies than ever.
Make the decision depending on how much you think your leadership actually cares about you.
All the best!
Its a trap, take on papers first before changing mind to leave 28LPA its almost 100% hike from current package, most companies promise onsite to retain employees and then make excuses to process further, bhai most important thing is your happiness and your family's if you have a newborn baby spent time here the onsite opportunity will not come today maybe some years later else its your decison to take!
You're welcome man cheers for your upcoming future, all the best!!

Which VISA it is ? Do you already H1B or is it going to be on L1 ? H1B approval rates are good these days if you are through lottery but that is 50/50.
L1
Offered you and your spouse an onsite job ?
Was it just a plain verbal communication or any firm written assurance was given.
Is it mandatory for you to withdraw resignation before company initiates the visa formalities ?
Can your current company initiate visa formalities while serving you are serving notice period.
I am not aware if this is actually a possibility or what I am suggesting is plain stupid.
Coz having to withdraw your resignation to initiate visa process maybe a bait to retain you. Also depends whether you can trust your manager to do the right thing for you and your equation with the manager
It is verbal but but 100% definitive. They are offering my wife because she is also in the same team and they really need me.
Secondly, just 3 weeks left for my notice period to end. Even if they start the process, it will take months to process. Moreover the current covid situation is dire, I have a new baby as well.
So that's why it's a difficult decision man.
What kind of visa would the apply? Or do you already have a US visa?
L1 would be applied
