Currently at PwC in the Oil & Gas consulting domain (joined 7 months ago) with a fixed CTC of 9 LPA. I’ve received an offer from McKinsey as a Capability & Insights Analyst (Chemicals domain) at 16.3 LPA.

McKinsey offers better pay and brand value but the role is backend-focused, while I enjoy the front-end client-facing work at PwC. I’m torn between both opportunities. Pls help

Go to mck and work back end 2 years and come back to your beloved front end mazdoori with at least a good pay that will make sense to do front end work

like

Why so hate towards front end? Isn't frontend work more supreme than backend

Money matters bro in the end... Go for McKinsey.. It's not like you won't get frontend work there.... What matters is at the moment what ctc you are standing at 16. Or 9 which one you like? You know the answer.

I know people will say, PwC is good big4 dont change and all.. But there are lakhs of companies, you will only able to work with few in your lifetime, don't just think you have limited options, so I think we should not think about the few ones that we may have to leave for better pay/offer.

McKinsey is a better option and treat is as a better from than PwC. It has a completely different and diverse clients. You'll get all kind of exposure there. But please keep in mind that, you may have to work more harder than what you'd be doing at PwC.

How much stock do you put on benefits? I have two offers with stark differences in benefits. Job 1: role I want, but benefit sucks (2 weeks paternity leave, 20% coinsurance). Job 2: role is okay but higher level and great benefits (16 weeks paternity, 0% coinsurance, 5 more days of vacation). Total comp is the same though. I wonder if I should just focus on role but Job 2 is a large company, so I can move around after 2-3 years I’d expect. Thoughts?

Hi all, asking on behalf of my SO. He’s currently in a backend engineer security role and wants to move into an infra related one. He’s in talks with his manager about moving internally in his current company but that is still in discussion. He just got an offer from another company for an infra role but they need an answer in the next week. How do you guys suggest he push for a decision from his manager about the internal move. Should he tell his manager he has another offer?
