I am reaching out to you all and am looking forward to break into Investment Banking from Consulting. Applied to Goldman Sachs via a referral but my resume is stuck after HireVue. Talked to the VO who referred me and he said Goldman doesn’t hire in Q4. If that’s true and still need to be in GS, can someone forward my resume directly to the team? Their career portal sucks. TIA Goldman Sachs PS: I promise a dinner in a dance place in NY after I get hired as a sign of my gratitude 🙈

Judged for not speaking it fluently by other Latinos. Anyone else feel the same way? 😞
Yes - exactly the same way. Both parents from SA but wasn’t forced to speak it except to family that still lived there.
Are you interested in learning?
I’m constantly learning. It’s been a passion. Lived it Latam and Spain for months at a time as an adult specifically to improve. When I lived in those places I sounded semi fluent but it’s been years since speaking it every day and my Spanish isn’t what it once was
I honestly think that for first generation Americans people understand if you don't speak well. I think it's about the effort more than the actual speaking. Usually people are just happy to find another Latino around. That's my experience anyways!
I am so jealous that you are semi fluent! I am dating a Latino and learning Spanish and it’s so hard. His parents only speak Spanish so we will see how I will be judged lol.
Also I am Asian and I found Asian Americans that try hard to speak their Asian languages really cute. Don’t think we judge them.
