Hi Fishes, many resources who were on the bench got terminated. Not aware of exact figure,but it's huge.
This time we didn't rcv diwali gifts or bonus.

Girlfriend has very obvious high functioning anxiety and body image issues that she admits but thinks she doesn’t need therapy or medication and that reading self-help books will help her. It’s not changing in the last several years and it’s impacting our relationship. Anyone have experience with their SO dealing with untreated anxiety? I don’t know if coming out is something I should do or not anymore. My girlfriend and I want to get married in the next couple of years but thats not something I want to keep secret. It hurts me that I feel like I have to do that, but I don’t want to risk losing my job. I know they can’t fire me for being in a wlw relationship but they don’t have to give a reason. I don’t want the backlash of the community either since the area I teach in is really rural. Just sad I guess.

In the past these have been sent directly to manager but is there another way to collect them to present to manager/hr? Is it weird to ask them to send directly to me for me to present?

My firm has applied for my L1A visa. If that gets denied, my plan is to travel to Canada and re enter US immediately on B1/B2 visa (already have valid B1/B2 stamp) so that I'll get time to figure out things here in the US (sell my stuff, handle my bank accts etc). To stay ahead of game I started to move forward in the interview process with another opportunity as an Application Software Programmer and just received notification that I got the position. I definitely could use the extra paycheck to help out with my financial obligations. Just wanted to see if anyone has done this before.

Please help. I’ve moved up the ranks pretty quickly at the company I work for to become a Principal SE. My manager thinks the best next step for me is to move into management and leadership and has started pushing me to apply for an engineering manager role. They say that I will be a good fit because of my strong technical background paired with the leadership and people skills I display currently.

I’m torn because I do love being an IC but I’m interested in leadership also. What do I do?
