Do attorneys in PA have to fulfill CLE requirements? I thought not bc we are not practicing law.

If you don't keep up with your CLEs, you cease to be an attorney. DT requires attorneys to maintain active attorney status to be promoted to manager, I assume it's the same across firms.

like

We use PLI which counts for CLE and the firm accepts this towards our CPE requirements. I’m double dipping.

I believe Deloitte requires us to maintain an active law license if attorney is our certification. So, we have to get CLEs. that is my understanding anyway.

For this purpose only, It’s less about NY’s requirements and more about your firm’s requirement that employees need some type of progressional credential (CPA or JD) and then the associated continuing education requirements. Check with your firm

International tax manager with 7 years experience all at KPMG. Thinking about switching to industry to see it from a new perspective and do similar work from a different angle. How do you successfully transfer B4 skills/experience to industry (how do you find the right fit?), and how do you continue to learn and build your skills so that you’re still marketable and could boomerang back if it doesn’t work out in a few years? It’s hard to trust the partners/leadership when they want us to return to office as being better when we increase offshoring? Also, the pressure on billable hours when all that really matters is how much our fixed labor costs vs. how much we can bill (which is usually fixed fee or at least a range) and the fixed labor costs of offshoring is significantly cheaper so the hours don’t matter. Am I mistaken by this viewpoint?
