Do companies/recruiters like to see you're currently employed at some job or be currently unemployed when it comes to job applications? I feel like they treat unemployed people a lot different than ones who currently possess a job.

Interviewing client side for the first time, what are some good questions to ask that one might not think about at an agency?

Anyone that works on at Amazon that can speak to the culture and work life balance? I have my final interviews on Thursday and Friday and thinking of cancelling because of all the horrible things I heard. I do not mind working hard but I also not looking to be on 24/7. I also heard people are mean and stabbing in the backs happen a lot. Is any of this true?

I had an interview yesterday for an AM position for a start up. The salary is 30k more than what I’m making now and it seems like the culture is much better than my current company. I prepped for days… I bombed it. The interviewer repeated two questions because I wasn’t answering them in a way they wanted. Can I just say that was a humbling experience🙃

Interviewed for a GS-15 (same agency but different office) and totally aced the interview with excellent answers. They know I’m a top performer with senior references. However I noticed there was an internal candidate who has been there for few years and interviewed that’s a veteran. I feel my chances just sank and want to gauge thoughts.

What does it take to pass final rounds?

I did decently well on all components (framework, brainstorming, exhibits) but made 2 calculation mistakes with one interviewer… already anxious as I wait for news

I had a great coffee chat, during which the employee offered to refer me. I sent him my application materials on Friday. How can I know if my referral has been submitted? How soon is too soon to follow up? I’m worried about the posting closing.

Working Moms/Dads: Do in-house positions exist with flex time hours? I need to be able to leave work at 4pm to pick up my son from daycare, but i can get back online at home to resume any unfinished work at 8pm. Is this realistic to convey to any companies in an interview? Pandemic aside, is face time 9-7pm really important? Or should i just try to find a job with a salary that covers a nanny salary and accept that i will never see my son on weekdays (which would be sad for both of us)? TIA!

Have interviews with a couple of MBB firms in the next two weeks for generalist positions; currently a new analyst at Deloitte. Would Case and Point be the best use of my time to prep for cases, if I’ve never seriously done cases before? My Deloitte interviews were all high level tech and my computer science major was more than sufficient to complete these.

4YOE @Amazon & trying to lateral to a similar role @FAANG. Have my undergrad GPA (3.8/4) on resume from top 15 school but colleague says to take it off (looks silly). If it’s a good school & high GPA, why ever take it off your resume? Even if 10 YOE...can’t hurt?

Anyone else having trouble finding free fraud based CPE trainings? My job does not pay for these things so I wasnt sure if anyone else had a solution or source. I need 4 more hours of fraud based CPE and havent found much on ACFE or AICPA that I can use. Ive joined a local CFE chapter but not much is going on with it.

YOE: 11.5 Tech: QA Automation with Selenium-Java, BDD, API automation, Mobile Automation - Perfecto cloud, Appium. All the 11 years I am with automation only. Is it possible for me to learn new technology and switch. Recently acquired AWS cloud practitioner certification which is of no use to me now as they are asking for exp.
