I had interviews with EY, recruiter reached out for desired salary, I informed $170k as base, yesterday he reached out to provide an update that it would $160k and 10% bonus and it’s pending for approval from partner and it might take a week or two , when should I start negotiating the salary? Should I wait offer letter or should I start right away?

Yes.
It depends on the agency and the project. I got to see commercials through as a junior. But at my current agency in a more senior role, I find that it varies by client, budget, etc.
Position attending shoots as training. Ask your CDs and ECD if you can tag along on the next shoot in order to better understand the process. Another thing you could do is grab a few friends and shoot some comedy sketches on your phone (or a camera if someone has access to one). There are film books you can buy and plenty of resources to teach you the basics of framing, camera angles, and cinematic language. Then you don’t need anyone’s permission and might get something to add to your portfolio if you’re lucky.
Do you mean attend shoots? Many agencies have limits on how many folks can attend, usually 1 producer, 1 account person, and 2 creatives on average
In terms of coming up with ideas, definitely yes, and a creative can give better advice on getting involved in that end. For shoots, I would recommend asking to shadow on anything local, or see if you can “attend” a virtual shoot if any are happening at your agency. Post sessions too! Anything requiring a flight might be tough but everything else is fair game, just ask.
More likely at a small shop, but yes.
At smaller shops maybe, at larger agencies no. Budgets are usually saved for senior creatives/CDs. If you want more production experience ask to sit in on bid calls or even just look over the wardrobe, casting, or location decks.
Radio is also a great way to get more production experience and you’ll have more authority there in the future as a writer.
I was lucky and got to.
Like above said, depends on agency and client etc. But yes. It is very much possible.
