Do people not call to check in on their job applications anymore. I always do I was told it shows you want the job. I called the screaming yak and I have never talked with someone so rude over the phone. I called and asked to check in on my application, her response “ if they wanted you to work here they would contact you” rude as hell. That was not needed, they shouldn’t let just anyone answer a phone.

At first time of my life being unemployed for 3 months with 20 years of experience and (145) Applications only got maybe 25 interviews...have owned different businesses and managed others and mastered a trade professionally..still no luck to land anything ...something is not right. .

I still do. I can't believe anyone would have a problem with this. Shame on whoever answered the phone. Such a ridiculous response to a valid question.

Anyone else having the hardest time finding a serving/bartending job? I’ve been in and out of the industry for the last 10+ years and have never had this hard of a time. I’ve been applying for months, full and part time and barely anything. Is the industry oversaturated with applicants or should I be doing something else? Any advice welcomed!

Yeah I’ve been trying for a while

Woah that’s so rude… I mean they could have just given a polite response of something like “i’ll let the manager know that you called. Thanks for your application. ‘I guess rolls need to be trained better for replying to these calls.

Yeah for sure, if they were busy they could have said “ hey we are busy right now can you call back later?” And I would have happily done that

I absolutely pay attention to who calls about their application. As long as they aren’t calling during lunch hours, and if they do I usually coach them on it because how would they ever learn that? You probably don’t want to work there if they are that rude.

I need work with good salary package thank you

What is considered a “large” caseload in employment litigation? I work at a large L&E boutique law firm and handling about 14-15 active litigation cases in state/federal court or arbitration. Some of these matters are multi-plaintiff and multi-defendant cases, but none are class actions. This does not include any matters I am handling in the charge stage or in pre-litigation. Not sure if that’s a typical caseload or not?

Check the overtime laws for your state!!

I just recently worked 58.6 hours in a week, weekly pay, nice OT profit right? Depends on where you live.

In Iowa, there is no Overtime pay mandate, the overtime pay is at the discretion of the business. I received 58.6 hours of base pay for the week.

If the company makes less than $1 million per year or does not engage in intercontinental sales, the company is not required to pay the overtime rate of time and a half, just your base rate.

Should I take the chance at this job and leave the restaurant that is on the rise and growing?
