Sometimes! It depends on where I am going
For the most part any time I've gone out in my uniform, people have treated me with extra respect and kindness. It's really heart warming
Yes but I'm not sure whether it's due to them or me. When I'm in uniform I find myself acting a lot more decisively and looking people in the eye a lot easier. It's kind of like when you go shopping in a suit and tie, you just carry yourself differently.
Absolutely. Most of the attention is positive, I think people tend to treat you with more respect when they see you as some kind of authority figure.
Usually they just treat me like normal, but then again I'm stationed in a very prominent base, so I guess it's not such an uncommon thing to see men & women walking around in uniform here. Little kids ask me if I'm the same as a firefighter or police officer because they know the uniform means something but they aren't always sure what; it's really adorable sometimes.
