Do senior associates at well-known litigation firms (e.g, Susman, Munger, Kellogg type) have an easier time landing on their feet at other firms if they don’t make partner?

A better resume is a factor that makes it easier to get future work, correct. Is it a big enough difference to tip the scales on any particular offer? Too many counfounding variables to say.

If you stuck around long enough to be a senior at Susman you are likely to make partner. They have an "eat what you kill" model so they are willing to make people partner. There are actually more partners than associates at the firm.

like

A3, what part is wrong? You can go on Susman's website and count the number of partners vs. Number of associates. You can also look at their announcements of partnership classes and match it to associates in those partnership classes. This may require a commercial database like Leopard solutions to track down but is technically based on public data.

SG' partner compensation model is not fully public, but it is quite well known it is eat what you kill. SG partners have $0 base compensation by just sitting around on their ass. They need to either participate in generating cases or work on other partners cases in order to earn money. This model makes it easier to make more partners because it is not like existing partners are just forced to turn over earnings to new partners who don't contribute

My PERM PWD was filed in early February and I’m still waiting. Almost all PWDs filed in the same month in my company have received determination, and all that are still in process are in the same department/team as me. I wonder what’s going on there.
What happens if a PWD takes more than 12 months to get approved? Would we have to file a new PWD since the 9141 wage survey is only valid for 12 months? (Feels like a PWD that takes >12 months to adjudicate would break the world record though).

Are the days of crazy returns on cards over? Any MLB, NFL, or NBA potential star goes for crazy high prices. Sounds like before you could pick up Luca or Mahomes cards before they proved their value, now that potential upside seems to be baked into the price. For example, a Mahomes PSA 10 Silver Prizm went for ~$200 in 2018, now an ungraded Herbert Silver Prizm goes for $1,100

What was the hardest class year for you? I used to think first year was by far the hardest but now I’m a third year and I’m really feeling the pressure to step up. The worst part is I think people can tell I’m a mess....

I’ve been unsustainably swamped for months. Partner said they wanted to add an additional, more senior associate to the team on one massive case that went from “stayed” to “on fire” in the span of a month. I said that sounded awesome and the thought of someone else having to take on some responsibilities was such a relief… so why do I feel competitive and threatened now that the senior associate has actually been added? 🙄
