Does anyone know how to successfully transition from academia clinical research into industry clinical operations? I’m currently at a director level of a large research program in academia and oversee operations. Prior to that I was a clinical research coordinator with extensive trial experience from study startup-close out. I’m not sure what level would be a good transition step and open to new roles/opportunities as well.

How does a sole engineer at a company go about getting management to actually care how production machines run? I’m the only mechanical engineer at my company dealing with a half dozen cranky production managers who think that I can “work my magic” on a machine. It’s not magic, just ignorance about the machine actually works. How to I get a manager to stop caring about the end product long enough for me to actually teach them about their own machine?

Have I just had bad luck with the companies I've been at or is it like this everywhere? I've had 7 managers in my 4 years of experience, 3 in one year at my first position (which is why I left) and now 4 at the 2nd company in 3 years.
